The Gujarat government announced on Friday that they will be constructing an airport near the village of Kevadia in the Narmada district to facilitate tourists visiting the 182-meter tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This airport will be located in the city of Rajpipala in the Narmada district.

Rajpipala city will be situated approximately 23 kilometers away from Kevadia. The airport will provide a convenient option for tourists to reach the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel easily. It will offer transportation facilities for visitors to travel to Rajpipala city and witness the statue. This airport will be significant for tourists coming from various parts of the country and abroad to see the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The Gujarat government announced on Friday that the Statue of Unity, recently dedicated to the public near Kevadia village in the Narmada district, will soon be connected by rail and air transportation.

During his visit to the country, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani reportedly met with senior representatives from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Railway Board Delhi on Friday. After the meeting with AAI Chairman Guruprasad Mahapatra, Rupani announced the construction of an airport in Rajpipala city, located about 23 kilometers from Kevadia, to facilitate tourists visiting the Statue of Unity honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is 182 metres tall.


This announcement is aimed at improving tourism and economic prospects in the Narmada district. The airport will provide an easy access option for foreign tourists and boost local businesses and the economy. The construction of the airport in Rajpipala, along with airports in Dholera and Rajkot, will receive support from the state government, as stated in the press release.
